Flag stops could help with request only. Not every train has to stop unless on demand.

This is all a bunch of Hooey and noisemaking - an excuse for SEPTA to have their dirty hands out, yet again to the feds for money, and never be accountable for those dollars, as per typical.
27 Trillion in Debt, we can't afford to be kicking in dollars for any transit agency. Transit is a local matter and SEPTA ; suprise suprise, wants a check from the gvmt with no transparency attached for those (our) hard earned dollars.

It's always the same story. Undoubtedly the tax-and-spend, libtards at SEPTA HQ blame the big bad conservatives for their predicament. We must stop this insanity and should have done so years ago. SEPTA cries wolf each and every time they don't get to snatch your wallet and escape scott free as they are so used to doing - business as usual, all the while using that wallet to make crappy decisions we disapprove of, such as buying railcars from the Communist Chinese, failing to have a plan in place to re-activate the 23 & 56 and Delaware Ave Line, and extend the R5 to Harrisburg and Quakertown. SEPTA is run by clowns, and not the good kind.

If SEPTA wants more dollars, show your work. Make a transparent case before Harrisburg and be open about doing so. SEPTA is a state agency. Thus, there should be no federal pot, or, a small one at that. Primary dollars should be from sources within PA, as SEPTA is a PA Agency.

SEPTA plays these same old games and makes threats if they don't get what they want. Fine. Go ahead. It's worth some temporary cuts to reform this disgusting and out of control menace at 1234 Market. I'd like to see some firings and heads roll in Management. Kick out all the "Activists". SEPTA, a public service we pay for is no place for activism of any sort.

Let's start with Pat Deon who wants the gig just for himself. Replace him with a sensible person such as Tom Knox or Beth Grossman.

The misconception that transit agencies bring "prosperity" wherever they expand to is ludicrous, if it's run by a bunch of un-accountable fools, the likes of NJT, MTA, and SEPTA are. A better example for running a tight ship, doing their job well and efficient, and being transparent about their operations would be Indiana's South Shore Line, or West Virginia's EPTA. SEPTA is just making cuts to make a political stunt like they need more money, with their hands out, right on cue as expected. The USA doesn't balkanize parts of the country. Cities run by the far insane un-american mayors and in some cases, state governors, balkanize themselves.

Our spineless *press* never asks questions of SEPTA either. Such as "why no paper transfers? Why deprive those that choose to want one of having one? Why do you believe it's your job to change behavior? Your job is to run buses."
"Why doesn't SEPTA re-use or re-power it's buses as peer agencies do? Why is the agency always chomping at the bit to buy un-necessary new buses? Why not take those buses sitting out of use at your bus depots and have them re-built for far less than the cost of new vehicles? Numerous firms exist for this very purpose.

Seems like SEPTA got some funding
https://www.inquirer.com/transportation ... 10112.html
SEPTA will see about $252 million in additional federal relief to stem losses from the COVID-19 pandemic, spokesperson Andrew Busch said Tuesday.

The funds will help pay for operating expenses, such as labor and maintenance, as the virus continues to keep fare-paying riders off public transportation. The $252 million comes in addition to $644 million SEPTA received from the CARES Act in the spring.

SEPTA cuts so their cooked books never see the light of day. So it's their way or no way. Why don't people submit mass FOIA requests for the Honcho's emails? Richards, Deon, etc. Deon should at the very least be the subject of an ethics violation, yet no one in this city ever does crap that exposes the agency for the sickos they are. Massive pay to play, collusion with the Communist Chinese to build subpar cars, throwing no caution to give contracts to reputable bidders, making announcements and decisions without hearings.....the list goes on. Heck the entire botches SLV's were all pay for play and political in nature. Those things aren't reputable railcars.
