With many people off from work and Septa running an enhanced weekend schedule because of the coronavirus case, it's safe to say that the push pull trains aren't running. I wanted to make a trip down to the Philadelphia area to photograph them but that will have to wait indefinately.

While the push-pull fleets have been idle, the overhaul work has not: 2402 and 2406 have been released with their new makeovers over the last few months. Only three cab cars remain to complete the 45-car project, which will drag into its 7th year in 2021: the 2403, 2404, and 2409 are the last three standing.

2409 is the cab car currently in the shop getting its makeover.

Also for those who may have missed it, the MARC set was returned home to Maryland at some point in July or August.

Anyone know how long the CRRC multilevel cars are delayed until?
The pilot car was supposed to have come by September of this year.

They were delayed almost a year by mutual agreement between SEPTA and CRRC sometime in 2019.
COVID-19 then set ALL their projects back by at least another 6 to 8 months. So I would guess we won't see the pilot cars till about this time in 2021.

West Trenton trains 6365 and 5340 are also running with a push/pull set.

Not 5340, that train originates on the Paoli-Thorndale side off a previous trip.
These are the current push-pull assignments. Four trainsets are in service, all operating between their outlying points and Center City for midday layover.
West Trenton - 6365/6336
Paoli-Thorndale - 9516/9531 and 9536/9551
Trenton - 9720/9755

All trains have been local since the COVID cutbacks in service. The push-pulls are no exception to this since they returned.

The push/pull locos are Siemens ACS-64's, the same locos that Amtrak uses on the NEC and Keystone Corridor.

SEPTA has 15 units, all in active service. Amtrak has not leased any, and it is not likely they will. Among other reasons that they likely would not do so, the SEPTA ACS units were not equipped with toilets for the engineer.

Amtrak did lease at least one ACS-64, along with an Amfleet push-pull set during the SL-V truck debacle when they were all taken out of service. NJT also leased an ALP46 and trainset during the same period. Ironically, SEPTA leased the AEM-7's to NJT while the NJT fleet was having PTC installed but I don't think they ever ran a mile in revenue service.

No, Amtrak never leased any SEPTA ACS-64's was what the poster meant.
SEPTA had at least 5 Amtrak ACS-64's leased at one point for the borrowed MARC sets, as well as the one on the Amfleet set and the full NJT set during Silverlinergeddon.
Correct on NJT leasing the SEPTA AEM-7's... they never intended to operate them. The (never going to be official but popular thought among fans and employees alike) was that they were only there to represent numbers in counting PTC-equipped locomotives on property when a certain goal date arose.
