I am surprised Mr. Sweeny isn't hitting the roof over this planned service suspension.

No way the Unions would allow crews from other railroads to qualify portions of NJT?? You think if the situation is that dire (and it is), and they needed 40-50 more engineers that you couldnt find extra Amtrak or SEPTA crew to work other assignments in South Jersey.? The whole thing really is a disaster that there are no other options!

Yes. Christie does get most of the blame for today's problems, but it goes back to McGreevey and Corzine as well for poor planning and lack of allocated funds for the agency.

According to the Inquirer, http://www2.philly.com/philly/business/ ... 80816.html
None of about 60 miles of track and none of the four locomotives or 16 train cars used on the line are equipped with PTC...
I know they did improvements earlier when they shut down the line from march to early June, but I'm still surprised they dud zero PTC work earlier this year

HAHAHAHA. SEPTA doesn't even have enough engineers to cover the trains they have. No idea how dire things are over at Amtrak.

An NJT work train consisting of NJT 4207, 10 gons, 4 flats, and an American crane with gon on the rear arrived Friday night and is tied down in Winslow.
Some of the gons have new tie plates, some have white canvas bags (possibly rail clips) and some are empty. The flats are all empty.

#4207 was the power on my train from 30th St Station to the Transfer Center in Pennsauken not even a month ago.

Just curious, how did they get to AC? I don't see an additional engine attached to the set?

Most likely they were cabbed down.
