Maybe an F40 or a PL42 will come down next. If the PL42 survives the trip, that is.

It's ashame I missed her. I did a round trip last night and the engines I saw were: 4216,4203,4215,4145,4208 no sign of her anywhere, must have made a mid-week trip back to home rails.

Well, hopefully, it hasn't been set out to be rebuilt yet.

The 4142 was at the MMC (running) on Thursday night, but I haven't seen her since.

Rebuild? As far as I know, only 4130-4134 are being built into switchers... the rest will be scraped or sold, from what rumors I hear.

4130, I believe it was, has already come back as 1001. The rest 4131-4134 will follow. They are meant to replace those SW1500's. The one good thing is, the MN FH's have or will be/been rebuilt, so we will see them for quite a while.

I've noticed several ACL sets roaming the lower NJCL this week (three car Comet IV sets). They were:

4207 - 2 C4s - 5016
4211 - 2 C4s - 5028 (locomotive changed to 4116 later in the week)
4218 - 2 C4s - 5017

There are also a good number of Comet IV Cabs on the electric sets now too (5018 and 5024 come to mind).

Given all this, have any C3s wandered back down to the ACL?

As far as I know you were an engineer on the Newark Division, even though your name appeared nowhere on the engineers roster. Don't go spreading your rumors.

I haven't seen a Comet III on the Atlantic City line in at least a year, if not two.

No rumors to spread. Infact just the oposite, it is indeed a fact that only 4130-34 are being rebuilt and the rest? Who knows what's going on. I'm sure there not going to be rebuilt, wouldn't make sense.

Wow... you completely missed my point. Moving on then...

Had a 13 car tie train down on the AC line eariler this week Lots of ties on the wayside from Griff to Egg harbor. Big stack at Pomo siding too. Guess they're going to replace a bunch of ties getting ready for the ACES trains.
