Occasionally gets dragged into the shop when a part is needed to be stripped off. With Alstom out of the locomotive business, there's no one left who knows how to make a new nose.
Just be glad you don't have to press "2" for English.

Alstom is still in business and given that they are making the new Acelas it is hard to believe that they are unwilling to make a new nose. My guess is that NJT is not willing to pay for it. Given the lack of money at NJT someone likely decided that NJT could live without one of those engines.
No big loss there...
I think it may be possible that NJ Transit might not be the perfect, infallible organization that most people assume it is.
