Ridership numbers, larger stations very close (Metropark, Rahway and Woodbridge) and the stupid platform is only about 3 cars long.

They're building condos on the north side of the tracks, so maybe that will change in the near future...and make local trips even longer.

What makes Avenel interesting is that it has "legacy" high-level platforms from the PRR era - I believe they date from the 50s
and were constructed during the same era that Woodbridge Station was built which was a grade-crossing elimination project...
