At 12:58 PM this afternoon New Jersey Transit GP40-2 #4302 is seen rolling by the station with 12 Arrow Mus from Morrisville, PA. When I was on my 1:53 PM train from Linden to New York - Penn Station I saw #4302 again but this time it was at Newark Airport rail station towing 6 Arrows from the Meadowlands shop. The time which I saw #4302 headed west past the airport station was 2:07 PM.

As I was rolling out of Bell Ford yesterday in Colonia, I caught sight of New Jersey Transit GP40-2 #4302 pulling a single bi-level Westbound at speed flying toward Metropark. It looked clean and fantastic in the sunlight and moving at a good clip. Of course it was impossible to get my iPhone or camera out in time to capture it - the frustrations of the moment. Nice to see 4302 MOVING as opposed to gently rolling along. Bell Ford and that strip of rt 27 is actually quite nice for catching westbound trains in the early afternoon. Long, unobstructed views of trainsets in motion. Might do some video work along there this Spring. (Just picked up a new F150 - the truck bed will be perfect for setting up the tripod and packing a good lunch).

I think it was Jtgshu's quote when he said (paraphrasing) "you haven't been going 100 mph unless you go 100 mph on a Geep." I suppose the Geeps go that fast on these types of moves down the NEC? If so, that would be an awesome ride.

100 mph long hood foward in a Geep was what he said.

Geep is good for 100mph with train. One coach counts as a train. that location is 110mph middle two tracks and 90 on the outer. it very well could have been in that range of speed.

Going that fast in one of those engines is insane. The ride is not smooth, you can feel quite a bit. but its kind of a good reminder that you are alive and your senses are functional. lol

Would love to see a cab ride video of that. :)

I notice most of the interesting equipment moves seem to be around midday. I've seen several this year in the 11am-1pm timeframe. Usually a Geep doing the work. Might stake it out after Labor Day.

The best moves happen at night. my largest count was 2 electric engines hauling 21 various cars engines and MUs. A lot of big moves of junk happen during the night hours after 10-11pm

…caught NJT 4300 pulling three arrow cars through Elizabeth yesterday midday. Of course I was at the wheel and couldn't possibly pull over to take a photo… but it was a nice set.

I didnt get it, but someone I know did.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NkaGo39kPJM" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Credits to SuperStarRendon. Two 45s bracketing four CIVs and an Amfleet as part of what I believe is NJTs push to certify the 45s, 46As and MLs for 125 mph operation.

Exactly how a single 45 is going to get anywhere near 125 in revenue service short of dropping it off a cliff remains to be seen.
