I was on them on sunday from jamica to queens plaza and I found that the destination anoucments started to recycle from the begining of the line at every stop.

A ride on the R160 on the E is eluding me. This morning, just before 9, I was waiting at Chambers St and was quite happy to see an R160 coming in. However it didn't have the route sign on and had "out of service" and "no passengers" on all its message boards. The car numbers were 9257-9253 (Chambers Street End) and 9247-9243 (Queens End). BTW are the 9000+ series still R160 or a later contract?

I finally ended up in the next R32 - car no. 3877.

Will post more details on my blog soon http://eone.vox.com

Rode the E on Friday 1/16/09 and had an R-160. Funny to go from the oldest to the newest like that. I think the main thing the passengers notice is the lack of the jarring start that the R32s have.
