One of my favorite rides is going to Coney Island on one line, going to Nathan's, and then coming back on another. I have noticed on the Sea Beach Line between the New Utrecht Ave and 18 Ave on the Manhattan bound side there is an open area that seems to have been an industrial siding going up to a factory. Is this the case, and does anybody know anything about this, or is there another explanation? Would this have been switched by the South Brooklyn RR? Thanks for any insight.

Someone please correct me on this if I'm wrong and if there is more to add.
That is the former ramp to the 5th Ave. El before the connection to the 4th Ave. Subway was built and when the line was still a streetcar operation. Streetcars were still in service when the line was placed in the open cut. I seen some pictures of some Standards with trolley poles attached while 3rd rail was being installed. I doubt that the Standards operated on the El due to their weight.
