I know that there are chartered railfan trips operated all over the system. Are these operated by the transit museum? I have been wanting to take a ride on one.

Thanks,

you'll have to check out the transit museum's web site for information about charters...

also check out the Urban Transit Club for more information:

The TA also runs charter trips; specifically to benefit the March of Dimes (MOD).

MOD trips were operated last Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday's trip: http://www.subwayspot.com/gallery/album48

Another place to get information on subway charters is NYCsubway.org. Their "Upcoming Events" page covers both MOD and Transit Museum charters.

There is also going to be a night time run for the first time in a long time.
It is also going to be run by the March of Dimes by Subdivision C like the recent gate car runs.
This one is going to be using the R9's and it will leave from the abandoned center platform at 59th Street-Columbus Circle next Saturday the 14th. I'm not sure what time, but I'm sure someone else will have that information.
Unfortunately, I will be out of state for this one.

The train will arrive at 4:30 PM next Saturday @ 59th St. Usually the route of the trip is posted to Subtalk the day before, but now ... :(
