https://shorelineeast.com/images/docs/S ... #view=FitH - Enhanced Weekend Schedule

SLE still has hourly service during the peaks (minus the ridiculous 3 hour gap from 6:24-9:25 PM) and I'm really not complaining.

The Hartford Line is running their standard Saturday schedule meaning...limited Valley Flyer trains, (outside of peaks as well, so effectively no commuting on them) heavily impaired AM rush service to Hartford/Springfield (first arrival in Hartford is 9). Not great.

Metro-North has apparently seen a 50% drop in ridership. It's doubtful CDOT would be implementing enhanced weekend schedules if conditions didn't warrant it for their commuter services.

I was down by the Guilford waterfront on Friday night (shortly after posting the OP) and walked up to Guilford Station as 1640 came in. A train that's normally full couldn't have had more than 40-50 people onboard, spread throughout 3 cars. Obviously the limited schedules are needed.

Hartford Line service has a new schedule for Monday March 30th, and for weekday's is the former weekday schedule with notable trains removed. At least there is AM rush hour service back north into Hartford again.
Beginning March 30 on the Hartford Line between New Haven and Springfield, both CTrail Hartford Line and Amtrak trains will run on a new special weekday schedule. The new schedule will be posted on the website and at Hartford Line train stations. Shore Line East will continue to operate on a weekend schedule seven days a week.

Another new schedule for Hartford Line service starting 4/20: 7 full RT's on weekdays and 6 full RT's on weekends.

New Schedule.

Except they had stopped doing it in the height of the pandemic...
"Unfortunately, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Amtrak stopped cross-honoring Shore Line East passes, and has made no information public to congressional offices nor the State Department of Transportation on when Amtrak will resume cross-honoring these passes," the letter reads. "In June of 2020, the Shore Line East website announced that Amtrak cross-honoring of Shore Line East multi-ride tickets would be suspended until further notice. I understand this partly stems from the lack of Amtrak trains currently running, which had previously been included in the cross-honoring program. I firmly believe that alternative cross-honoring arrangements could meet the needs of our current passengers until the full Amtrak schedule is restored."
