Question about Long Term Disability (MTA Metro-North)

I unfortunately need to apply for long term disability. Does anyone know how the process works? I have to start with RRB for the Tier 1 portion and then MTA BSC for the Tier 2 portion? Is that a separate application process? I have 21 years of service. Thanks for your help!

I’m not sure what roll the carrier has on a disability. Repost in Employment page, since the system would work the same for all RRB covered employees. Any company pension would have to be worked out with the carrier.
