Makes sense, but I didn't hear the 40.2 for either 400 or 402 at times and places I normally hear the 40.2.

Lowell outbound 301 died at Mishawum (engine 2009).
Lowell inbound 302 was held at Anderson for outbound 303 to run around 301. I was on 302, and we stopped to pick up 301's crew at Mishawum -- blast from the past stopping there! A work engine was approaching 301 to tow it back to BET.
302 ended up 15 minutes late into North Station.
Lowell inbound 306 was cancelled.

02-28-2018 Service Alert shows 400 stopped outside W. Concord and 40-55 delayed cuzza mechanical issues. My reception broken, but Fitchburg was asking about MU cable and then whether Concord Fire could get to them and then at 0621 advising that 402 would tie on to them. Power was eyeballed at 0450 at Wachusett as the 1134.

Bad Rockburyport morning today. 158, 101, and 192 all cancelled.

I bet 108 (the next inbound serving Swampscott, Lynn, Chelsea) was a sardine-can. However, a T-Alert said 108 was near schedule from Beverly so that's good news.

191 was sent to Rockport to make up for 101, but there was no word of extra inbound service from that set. A few minutes ago a deadhead set passed through Lynn (did not stop) but it wasn't going track speed so I couldn't tell if it was the set that was supposed to be 158 limping in, or if it was the set from 191 to Rockport just going home. That deadhead was in-between 162 (which is around 10 min. late) and 110 (which is on time but right on the heels of the deadhead set).

This T-Alert was published with the headline, "CHANGE AT SHARON." At first I thought passengers were changing trains, as in "Change at Jamaica!" (for you LIRR fans):

Passengers are advised to use caution at Sharon Station due to wind damage. Crews are en route to respond to the issue.

Significant impacts to Newburyport/Rockport and Haverhill Commuter Rail lines and the Blue Line are expected today. Ferry service is suspended.

Hope I can get home from work tonight.

The Eastern nearly got overtopped during the blizzard in January, the tide is expected to be higher from this storm.

MBTA's says the Salem Parking Lot is closed due to flooding and you will not be able to retrieve your car until the facility reopens .

Is that the parking garage or an other lot?

Newburyport/Rockport Line trains are expected to operate 25-35 minutes late between Chelsea and Lynn due to localized flooding and high water. Individual alerts will be sent as needed.

Needham Line had issues yesterday as the gates on Great Plain Avenue near Needham Center station weren't working during morning rush hour. With no trains nearby, one gate was all the way down across the road and the other one was at about 45 degrees. Lots of police directing traffic thru all the lights in the area, took me 5-7 minutes to cover what usually takes 2 minutes. Not sure what happened when a train actually was coming through

Per Service Alerts 0710/0305-2018, 404 was stopped west of Fitchburg account mechanical difficulties and 406 -- probably account running on 2 -- not stopping at Fitchburg. ~0620, there were a number of garbled-to-me 404/404 and 404/D-3 convos about power trouble -- the 2001 -- with the last clear transmission I heard being 404 telling D-3 at 0636 they were back on the move, but evidently only temporarily.

Among other challenges from the heavy, wet snow on 3/8/18, Lowell inbound #300 derailed in Wilmington this morning, throwing an already difficult commute further off course.

Looks like there was a downed tree/wire near Mansfield or Canton Junction today, appeared to impact both commutes. 808 pretty much crawled the entire way into Boston since it was stuck behind 842 (which was late getting to Attleboro due to the fallen tree). 808 left Attleboro a few minutes late but got into Attleboro about 5-8 minutes after 842 turned and left.

Got on train 819 (3:55PM outbound) and was informed that track 1 was still out from Canton Junction to Mansfield. We held just outside the Canton interlocking for about 35 minutes to let 3 inbound trains pass (train 824 and two Amtrak trains). Afterwards we crossed over to track 2 and stayed on it all the way through at least Attleboro. Although by the time we got to Mansfield there was an inbound train on track 1 heading inbound so maybe the repair/cleanup was finished by then?

I did like 819's 6 double decker set today though (even though hardly anyone was on the train), think that's the right size for that train (pretty cramped up when on its normal 4 doubles/2 singles set).

Until the 0635/03-09-2018 end of my listening, Boston West was shoveling out 241s for Wilmington and Shop. Lowell Line Service Alerts showed commercial power failure as cause for delays. Also at 062,1 Boston West advised 302 that D-2 would have to talk them by BY.

The Lowell Line has been a mess since Thursday morning derailment in Wilmington that also featured
power/storm related damages up and down the line. Two PM round trips were cancelled. Amtrak 682/683
and 684 were all run via Reading.

To add insult to injury, the night was capped off by 429's trespasser strike in Belmont.
