Which app most-effectively gives commuters the real-time MBTA information needed to navigate their way around the Boston region?

A public forum will be held on Aug. 12th at 10 Park Plaza, where developers will showcase their products. This event will feature a group of finalists from existing apps currently being used by the public.

The winner will have their app featured prominently on the MBTA website for a full year, and be officially endorsed by the MBTA. The winner will be announced on August 12th.

What is your favorite Commuter Rail "my next train" app?

I am looking for one that is fast to load and looks at just "my morning stop" and "my evening stop"--and remembers these two without wanting to see my GPS. Just show me both and I know where I am, thanks.

(I find StefanW"s tracker and the Transit App both too powerful --showing me way too much info vs the simple question: is my train on tme or if I am off schedule what is my next option)

I like MBTA Rail Tracker for simple data. Not exactly what you're looking for in terms of indivdually customization, but pretty quick to click through to your train.

MBTATrains.com is a more simplistic map-based tracker. Again, exactly what you're looking for, but somewhat 'cleaner' interface than Stefan's actual map based web page.

Thanks dbperry, for the suggestions. I have bookmarked the mbtainfo.com pages for my home stop and North Station and will see how that goes.
