FVMs at Mattapan or Capen Street

Friends, I can't seem to find the answer to this on the T's website. It just says "all subway stations", but also says that lines with surface stops have fareboxes on the cars. Which of course they do. But are Mattapan line stations "subway stations" for purposes of having machines that will sell me a 1-day Link pass?

I don't believe any stations (other than Ashmont of course) on the Mattapan Line have machines. maybe Mattapan, although I don't recall seeing them there.

Mattapan has FVMs. I can see the side of one in a photo I have from there. None of the stations between there and Ashmont have them, though. There isn't really anyplace to stick an FVM hut by any of them.

I took a railfan friend for a ride on the Mattapan line today. I can confirm, only Ashmont and Mattapan have FVMs.
