I saw 293 today leading a work train west on the Fitchburg line in Somerville. 3247 was on the other end.

So...all units have been stored at Rochester for close to 6 weeks now. This despite an F40PH-2C repair dead line that's now 10 units large, so they don't seem to be hurting too severely for extra power this spring.

Is this the effective end of the leasers' cameo appearance on the T?

One of the units has been used on the Kawasaki Test runs down the there. I think the
330...Wouldn't surprise me if that one or two get loaned out to the Cape Cod Central
under that mysterious MassDOT, Mass Coastal, MBTA and Cape Cod Central cabal...

All seven units were brought to Middleboro this morning by Mass Coastal. Leaving via CSX
at some point.

Unknown where there are heading, but there is a rumor CDOT maybe be interested in them.

Rumor is they are awaiting CSX inspection. Probably won't move up to Framingham immediately.

Hmm...are these maybe supplementals for Metrolink while they sort out their own Rotem debacle of BNSF banning the new cab cars from service? They definitely don't have enough locos to run the required double-draft substitutes, and their short-term loan of GE AC4400CW freighters from BNSF is supposed to end by October per the ongoing thread in the Cali commuter subforum. These Screamers would be an excellent choice if they're capable of controlling the consist engine-off like a glorified Amtrak cabbage.

Still in Middleboro as of this morning, 7/25.....B726 was a no show this morning in Attleboro, B725 brought their train to Attleboro, dropped their train, and went back to Framingham with 3 lite CSX units...followed #802 from Attleboro to Mansfield this morning.

Rail World sues the T for not performing maintenance on the leasers it just returned.

Rail World later offered to reduced the bill to $400,327, but the T paid only $189,435 to the company, according to the lawsuit. The suit says the MBTA’s refusal to pay the entirety of the reduced amount means that the agency still owes the company $232,258 for the original bill.

Considering the units were not road ready on arrival to MBTA and were barely used when they ran,
the ex-Amtrak units spent more time at BET or the Mass Coastal shop for repair,Rail World should settle
out of court. Believe IP borrowed them(sub-leased) for Cape Cod passenger work.
They were not used that much period!!

These things practically spent more than half their time in Rochester being picked apart by foamers than they did in revenue/work/scenic train service while the T held the lease for them.
