I've seen them. The AEM-7 has been there for a couple years now. From what I was told, it got shipped to Riverside with instructions to evaluate it for overhaul. The shop forces at Riverside, having never touched electric motors ever, supposedly reacted along the lines of "What are we supposed to do with this thing?" and shoved it into a corner out of the way... where it remains today.

Three more MARC cars have arrived for SEPTA yesterday evening. All cab cars. Total now 26 Sumitomo cars on hand.
MARC IIa: 7746, 7748
MARC IIb: 7756.

I am guessing they will relieve the SEPTA cabs on two sets.. and since that will then give us 5 MARC cabs, two will become spares.

I saw a few photos.... finally 5 of the 15 multilevel cabs are in service down there. This may be it for SEPTA though, if there are no more setbacks.... they may be giving them back by mid-October if this all goes according to plan.

So, after monitoring the SEPTA PM rush this evening, it comes down to this:

Of 28 MARC coaches leased by SEPTA (6 cabs, 22 trailers)
- Three six-car sets remain on SEPTA, totalling 18 cars. They ran on Paoli-Thorndale trains 9547, 9561, and 1565. This should be their last week here, as Amtrak needs the Sprinters back next week, and over 90 Silverliner V's have been restored to service.

- Ten cars (4 cabs, six trailers) parked in Penn Coach Yard pending forwarding back to MARC by Amtrak.

- Of the 18 MARC cars remaining, the three cab cars are all MARC IIa cars (7748, 7753, and 7754) and the 15 trailers are all MARC IIb cars (7716, 7719, 7721, 7722, 7726, 7727, 7728, 7730, 7731, 7732, 7733, 7734, 7729, 7791, and 7798).
