Anyone know why WMATA is running the silver line to New Carrollton this weekend? Why not just run the silver line like normal and just have limited orange line service between New Carrollton and East Falls Church?

Because running both would be redundant and to reduce the load on the substations on either side of Stadium-Armory.

Weekend service adjustments October 9-11 for rebuilding
