Originally it was supposed to be from Dupont Circle but because of flooding rains in the spring of 1974 and again in the fall 1975, Dupont Circle stop was delayed until Jan 17 1977 before it could take passengers.

Also, Gallery Place-Chinatown did not open on 3/27/76, that one was delayed until 12/15 of that year because it was non-ADA compliant (elevator issue).
