Although originally scheduled for fall 2022/spring 2023, Metro has announced that it will begin phase 1 of its Platform Improvement Project at National Airport station on August 8. Metro has decided to accelerate the timeline because of the seriously degraded platform conditions at the station (and I assume also because the ongoing pandemic has suppressed air travel). Phase 1 will only address structural improvements, whereas phase 2 will add the new 'customer experience enhancements' - new LED screens, PIDs, shelters, etc - "at a later date." https://www.wmata.com/service/rail/Plat ... gust-8.cfm
