im not familiar with LIRR so i have a question.

how come the official port washington branch LIRR schedules don't show what
times the trains stop at the Shea Stadium station? (see http://mta.info/lirr/html/ttn/pem.htm) does LIRR not serve the station unless it is a Mets game day or the us open tennis event?

Pretty much. Who the heck would want to go there if there's no game, anyway?

There are plenty of times that I wanted to go to the area and could've used Shea Stadium station. Although Flushing is plenty close, Shea is closer.

Also, the LIRR has special schedules they print out for baseball season with a list of dates on which trains will stop at Shea, as well as the times. Also, the LIRR stops at Shea station for the US Open as well.
