This 4/70 picture is at Hicksville on the viaduct just east of the station and Divide Tower
at the beginning of the Port Jefferson Branch. That third rail is brand new there - this is around
the time of the completion of the Mineola-Huntington Electrification. MACTRAXX

Since your "on a roll" This would appear to be at the ex-Boro Hall Lumber Co turnout view just east of New Hyde Park Rd. Signal 168 in view ahead.

Nice pics! I'd say the second one would be in the west end of Divide, where the photographer is just east of the Charlotte Ave bridge. The hack is on the North Track, as it's electrified, the one left of that is the Runaround, the ones curving away are the old Charlotte Ave Yard and cripple track. Signal bridge in the distance would be old bridge two, and the siding on the far right is long gone. But the second one would be for the Hicksville page as well.

The second photo of the hack (C-66) being "dropped" is Hicksville on the north side. The curving track in the background goes to the team yard.

The curving track in the picture with the RS-3 heading west with a commuter train goes to what is today the location of the Hicksville Post Office. What customer was located there prior to the post office, or has the post office always been there on W. John St.? The track is still visible, somewhat, mostly paved over, since at least the '80's. Thanks.

The second photo obviously has the location corrected, but Charlotte Avenue did not have a bridge in 1970. Charlotte Avenue was either still a grade crossing or was in the process of being eliminated in 1970, because that project wrapped up in 1973.
