I was reading on the MTA website that the LIRR is in the middle of constructing a new Control Theatre in the Jamaica Central Control building and was curious when the LIRR plans on consolidating all of the towers into the new OCC.

CENTRALIZED TRAIN CONTROL

This project's objective is to provide greater reliability of dispatch control and traffic control decision-making while streamlining the current process involving various radio, telephone, and internet communications with multiple remote towers, field crews, and response teams. Information will be available "at a glance" for Supervisors in the Jamaica Central Control to make decisions regarding utilization of the LIRR traffic network. LIRR passengers will benefit from better and timelier information and enhanced emergency management coordination.

Fit-out the JCC 6th floor theatre with office spaces for Transportation, Maintenance of Equipment, Equipment and Energy, Public Information Office, Signal Control, and Engineering System Operations.
Furnish and installation of all data and electrical lines for each position.
Furnish and installation of Life Safety Systems.
Testing of all systems [CTC, TIMACS, SCADA, etc.].
Duration of Contract 12 Months
