This is going to be a long shot, but I'll try anyway.
Anyone know of any generic times/days the road freight jobs run, or do they only run as needed? After digging through the internet I've found schedules of these jobs from 1974, 1986, and 1991, but clearly none of those are going to do me any good... :P
Anyway I'll turn it over to you guys, and any information will be good at this point. Thanks

Is it me or has the daytime Main Line East job been running a little later? (using slots between later scoot runs)

Once the Eastbound Scoot leaves Yaphank, the NY&A RS job's follows to Yaphank, then switches the power facing Westbound. It then exchanges cars at the BRT and then continues Westbound. At this day it had CIT No.402 in the middle between 270 and 271.

I was thinking more along the lines of the LIRR's freight jobs, but since you brought this up I might as well continue with it. I've been thinking about going out to Yaphank for a while now to catch the 70/71, so should I just wait around after the scoot passes East? From what I've seen the 71 usually starts West around 3 to 4-ish, but when does the 70 start going East?

Before the RS arrives in Yaphank (around 1:30 pm) it sometimes also stops before proceeding east at the team track in Medford and Gershow and Blue Links and AHC (aggregates). Once done with all, this the power switches in Yaphank facing west. It will then exchange cars at the BRT.

The attached photo shows the LIRR freight train in the early 1970's. Those units were leased at he time to the LIRR. Not too many cars compared to the new NY&A trains which normally have 20 to 30 cars.

Great photo and thanks for posting! Didn't know that BAR locomotives were leased to the LIRR.
