http://abclocal.go.com/wls/story?sectio ... id=8408647 has a brief mention ... apparently hitting a train with a car can really mess up the commute (the three people in the car were reported to have non-life threatening injuries).

218 was struck by the van at Brunswick St (Hammond IN near the Illinois St line) around 5:00pm CT ... annulling 117 which would be its turn and delaying 111, 113, 15, 115 and 215 as NICTD eventually got one track open (around 6:55pm CT) making trains 30-40 minutes late (per NICTD's delay page).

Then 22 hit an abandoned vehicle at the 10th St interlocker (no media report found) - making 22 45-60 minutes late (and delaying 19 by more than 60 minutes).

Please keep your cars off of the tracks!
