Hi all. Forgive me if this is in the wrong forum, but as it pertains to the CSS&SB, I thought this was the right place to post my question.
Anyway, I'm a model railroader who just bought an HO scale model of a South Shore 2-bay 34ft. covered hopper in the modern bright red paint scheme. Despite being a covered hopper, the car is stenciled "Stone Loading Only". I am wondering if I should build this kit as a covered hopper, or if the South Shore converted some covered hoppers into open hoppers. The reporting marks on the model are CSS X1301, if that helps.
