Here's one you don't see every day. Monon traditionally ran their trains in/out of Dearborn Station. Today I came across this pic of the Monon business car, a few days after A-day, at the tail end of a train at IC's Central station on the lake front.

The C&EI went over to L&N in 1970. It appears the Monon went over to L&N in 1971. This may be the beginning of the end for the Monon. Not sure if you can find other history on this car?

Monon #2 the "Lynne" resides at the Indiana Railway Museum at French Lick, IN. Now painted in the Indiana University colors of red and white on gray.

Dug out my copy of "Monon Route" by George W. Hilton. It indicates that the Monon went under L&N control on July 31, 1971 after receiving approval from the ICC on September 9, 1970 and requesting approval from the ICC on September 8, 1968. So yes, it was indeed near the end of the line for the Monon. Nice photo!
