And the 8400 series are the older series, being non-Japanese built cars?Metra began taking delivery of the 8400's about 10 years ago as part of a 175 car order from Morrison-Knudsen (later Amerail). These, along with the 7400's (non-cab coach cars) were the first Metra cars equipped with wheelchair lifts that ensured ADA compliance. Delivery was completed around 1998 or so. And yes, the 8500's are the newer cab cars, in fact, delivery of the entire order should be just about complete.
