Hello. I'm new to this forum and would like to ask a question. I live near Negley, Ohio, where the old Youngstown and Southern shops are located. This line was just taken over by the Ohio Central, which happened in Dec. The old operater was the D&R from AR. which called the line the CQPA. The CQPA used 4 ex-FEC GP9's and two ex-CN four axle GMD1's, the 1151 and 1155. I know sometime in the last 5 years or so, the D&R bought 4 GMD1's from the CN and at one time, all of them where going to come up to the CQPA, but only two came north. Does anyone know if the D&R ever put the other two into service on the D&R. Also, does anyone know of any other GMD1's in the US. I know CN sold a bunch of them to Cuba and some shortlines in Canada. Does anyone else use them in the states? Just wondering. Thank you.

I would have to say its the first and only line that I know of with GMD1's in the U.S. outher than maybe a museum. The GMD1 was a Canadian Built Model only built for the Northern Alberta Railways, Canadian National, and a few were outfitted with Narrow Gage trucks for use on CN on the former Newfoundland Railway.
