Is there anyone else except me that does express an interest in the unusual or rebuilt locomotives from the likes of GE,EMD and others , rather than the usual main line high horsepower locomotives such as SD40-2's,SD70'S,SD70-2M's to SD 90's and their variants from ELECTRO MOTIVE DIVISION and from GENERAL ELECTRIC DASH7's,DASH 8-40's to the ES44'S and their variants, I'll have to grant them this -both GE & EMD- those new locomotives they build are nice and yes fuel efficient. However, to me they all are starting to shockingly a lot like the automobiles that we all drive and cherish greatly!

Tom: I have an interest in demonstrators. The first of anything may be unusual because it is the first one. The trick is does the idea catch on or does it go away. So why would some demonstrators become successful and others become a one of a kind is what interests me.

I'm gonna lock this one. You already asked/opined on this subject, in your last post. We don't need multiple threads, wondering about why locos look the way they do. thanks. <<<CLICK>>>
