Hi,

Anyone happened to know something about a modification project on an EMD Diesel-Electric Locomotive in order to convert it to an Electrical Locmotive using DC Traction Motors?

A few motor-generator electrics, based on SW-1200 but with Blomberg trucks (so there must have been differences in the frame from standard SW-1200) were built for a mining railroad in Quebec or Labrador. And of course there was the FL-9, which acted as a straight electric when in the Grand Central Terminat tunnels (& when the rules were being obeyed): I believe it made use of the dynamic brake resistors and fan as part of the control system when it was pretending to be a juice-jack.
