I was wondering after comparing photos of the GP59 to the GP60, I couldn't find any distinct spotting features. Is there any major external difference between the 59 and 60? Or, is the GP59 essentially a GP60 with a 12-710G (3000hp) opposed to a 16-710G (3800hp)?

Thanks in advance.

GM10,
It sounds like you are talking about the pre-production demonstrator units of each model. I'm speaking of production units.

The only GP59's are Norfolk Southern 4609 4611. The GP59 has 7 handrail stanchions vs. 10 on the GP60. The GP59's have the late version GP60 dynamic brake housing.
