New BN and CP 710ECO rebuilds

BNSF's new SD32ECO rebuilds are due to be released this month. They are being rebuilt from three ex-Santa Fe SD45-2 chassis.

Six of CP's new GP20ECO rebuilds are die to be released this month from Muncie, these will be virtually brand-new reusing mainly just trucks and traction motor cores from old GP7s and GP9s. The first of CP's rebuilt SD30ECOs will be released in November.

BNSF's locomotives are being rebuilt by Progress Rail at the former CEECO facility in Tacoma, while CP's GP20ECOs will come from Muncie, IN (mostly new locomotives) and SD30ECOs will be done at Mayfield, KY.

A very nice looking locomotive and it has a conventional cab style! I dont like the looks of the wide body cabs.

According to Sean Graham-White of LocoNotes, Union Pacific is going to rebuild a pair of GP40-2s with 710ECO Repower packages, and the locomotives will be equipped as slug mothers.

What makes this particularly interesting is that they're going to use the 12-710ECO. Up to this point we haven't seen many 4-axle units getting the 12-cylinder, aside from F59 passenger loco rebuilds.

Mr. Graham-White states that the units to be rebuilt are UP 1443 and UP 1444, and that "at least part of the work is supposed to occur at Relco in Albia, IA."

I can't seem to find the link to post but I recently read that NRE is rebuilding some Gp's (40's, IIRC) with the 12-710 ECO package for a South American mining railroad..

Yes, but those 8 missing cylinders only contributed 50 hp. each.
