I noticed that The Trinity Railway Express (DART) has bought the F69PH-AC Demos from EMD. Does anyone know when they will be recieved? They are supposed to be converted to F59s.

That would be very interesting, especially considering that the two units were supposidly scrapped several years ago. What is your source for this information?

Hope they're willing to sink some dough into those engines, I know one of them had a major engine failure (I think it was the crankshaft). BTW it wasn't EMD they bought them from, NRE has owned those two units for a while now.

Go to Dart.org ,click Procurement opportunities. Last summer DART has put an offer on the table to any interested party to bid on a contract to remanufacture these units. The units will be rebuilt to be compatible with the current F59PH fleet. Estimated cost: $1M-$10M!

When I was in Dallas, I did not see any supposedly dead locos on Trinity Rail. I did see what looked like a blue loco owned by Herzog Transit Services (the contract carrier). Sorry, but I do not have any pics of the non-revenue equipment, only the revenue equipment.

I would take it though that DART and Fort Worth T want to add service to this line.
