2300 is a b23-7 but 2302 and 2304 are u23b's

Kingfish,
could you please use the "quote" feature or otherwise be a bit clearer in your postings?

the above few posts seem to read as a conversation:

Aaron - "2300 is a b23-7 but 2302 and 2304 are u23b's"
Kingfish - "not true"
Scot - "what is not true?"
Kingfish - "2300-2302-2304 being sold."

so I think that when you said "2300-2302-2304 being sold." you were responding to my question "what is not true?"
If so, you are saying ""2300-2302-2304 are NOT being sold."
but..no one in this entire thread ever said they were being sold!
that was never once mentioned..

so is your "2300-2302-2304 being sold." statement completely unrelated to anything else and you actually mean to say "2300-2302-2304 ARE being sold." ??

thanks,
Scot

Quoted from the NYSW yahoo group.
I haven't been following the GP40 comments on the list so if its old
news, don't FLARE up... but:

CSXT GP38-2's 2725, 2732, and 2624
NS GP38-2's 5273, 5293, and 5294

are due into the NYSW (Croxton maybe???) on Friday 11/30/07 for a new
lease agreement, without checking on-line at rosters and stats, I
would guess that at least 5 out of 6 of these are former Conrail.

So keep your eyes open and share the info...

Sorry Scott on the confusion with my postings. I am not very savvy on the use of internet BB forums as regards options to respond to statements.

To be up front about matters I am the CMO for NYSW and have been posting non-confidential items to clear up the many rumours and mis-information about the carrier.

Respectfully,

George King

George, thank you for all the info. We appreciate it.

Yes, thanks very much George for the info! :P
its really refreshing to get actual, real information as opposed to lots of guessing!

I was just a bit unclear on what exactly you were responding to with your last few posts..should be cleared up now!

thanks,
Scot

It would be nice if NYS&W would acquire some of the ex-CNJ GP40P(H-2)'s
from NJT when they become available due to retirement. AIR those are "heavy axle" units, heavier than mainstream GP40s. It would be neat to see some local heritage equipment go to NYS&W (i.e. CNJ).

3040 & 1802 will continue in service for the near future. All other NYSW 4 axles are being parked and stored.

There are too many threads to respond to on this BB as regards NYSW 4 axles. This is the gospel. All other information such as selling, overhauls and whatnot are just unfounded speculation.

Merry Christmas!

Thanks for that info!! I figured the 1802 would soldier on for at least a few more months, but the fact of the matter is its days must be numbered.

Can't "the near future" = "a few more months"? My bet would be for it to run until it fails, the current 92-day runs out, or it fails to pass a 92-day at some future point.

Lease must be a good deal if it's cheaper to park your own units and use someone else's.

I thought 1804 would still be around and 1802 was going into storage. How long will these sit in storage until something is done with them?
