3018 and 3022 to Dansville, NY, for rebuild?

G&W took two units, dead it tow, to the shop in Dansville today, NYSW
3018 and 3022. Not sure if these were for repair or parts
goats.....didn't look too good.....

Rebuild! Supposedly getting their noses chopped and possibly painted.

yup, getting rebuilt. I've heard chopped noses, but not paint. But it would be nice to see both chopped and painted.

SD45 3614 was heading for New York Locomotive in Dansville for rebuild.

anyone know what happened to 3618? it went up with 3012 and thats been back and running around. nobody has seen the 3618.

I'll try and get over to Dansville when I get back from Civil Air Patrol encampment, which will be next weekend (I leave friday, and I doubt I can make it out there during the week)

anyone have any idea what it cost to rebuild each loco? just wondering if it would've been cheaper to rebuild them or to maybe lease brand new locos.

i thought there was 1 or 2 more up there too. hopefully when all these come back from rebuild, they'll send up some of there power they are beating on now for overhauling.

NYSW 3614 departed dewitt today 7-27 for i assume dansville.NYSW 3042 is back on nysw syracuse.

the 3042 came in from utica on CSX,
so it was either being worked on or was working the now cut off utica side.
