Did that detour train that was due at Campbell Hall around 8PM last night (5/9) continue on NJ Transit thru Suffern or go via NYSW
thru Sparta and on to Midland Park, Elmwood Park into Ridgefield Park???

Instead of making a new topic every time CSX runs a detour, it will be easier and faster to list them here. With that in mind, here's the latest round starting today:

Per the NYS&W facebook group:

Q156 w/ CSXT 91 (YN3), CSXT 42, and NYSW 3806 w/ 8,000 ft of stacks plus ten NYSW freight on the rear, should leave Syracuse around 1515-1530. Passing through Jamesville at 1610 with the BH-2 crew on board.

Q004: CSXT 3169 (Box Car), CSXT 559 w/ 6,200 ft of stacks due into Syracuse around 1600-1630.

Supposedly these trains will run the NYS&W tomorrow as well.

I had it backwards for previous detour, but the video was great thanks for publishing! However CSX is sending 2 more detours down to NJ today so we will see what happens.

The second southbound detour went through Jamesville NY 6:45pm. CSX 3169 was leading with a NYS&W unit added to the two CSX engines.

Q156 was sitting in Binghamton at 1615 with the CSXT 362 and 387, it passed Great Bend at 1910.

It must have been the Q004 that passed my house I'd say around 5:00-5:30 Am then. I wish I could give a specific time, but I was out cold and only heard it. It was certainly much longer than the standard NYSW trains that go by. So I'm guessing that must have been it.

That one (Q004) made it here much faster - approx. 11 hours from Syracuse to my house, as opposed to the Q156 which took approx. 15 hours (1515 to 0620). Is there any reason one would be so much faster than the other? I guess from reading previous posts the Q156 stopped in Binghamton, I imagine to add the NYSW freight at the end and the 3806 up front.

If there are going to be more, I'm trying to gauge when they'll pass by so I can be a little more prepared. I did get to see the Q156 go by, but I only got about 20 secs of totally unwatchable video of the locomotives b/c I was still walking over when they passed.
