It appears, Mr. Dewoc, that we observed the same train yesterday.

Thanks for expanding the information with your report of train's symbol and routing.

A trivial wondering on my part; why, at least when interlined with BNSF, are these units always trailing? Could it be that, if they are to get banged up at, say, an X-ing incident, let it happen on home rails rather than foreign?

Gilbert, thats not the case at all, typically the train (say for arguments sake) going East pulls into the oil refinery, the reason the engine would be trailing coming back is they dont have a place to wye/spin the power or its not a loop track where they just continuously pull through a track that makes a loop and heads back the opposite direction. The power will train usually when they pull in and cut away from the train and then run down an adjacent track in the opposite direction they pulled in and then tie back onto the train at the opposite end

Mr. Dewoc, just think if this home were mine, I could have as many sightings of Heritage units as you do. I'm further up the street.

Once it was owned by a railfan who had an 'observatory' in the Dining Room. The family that owns it today could care less about trains.
