Now that CN and UP have elected to shift some traffic away from their traditional Chicago interchange, I was wondering if NS and BNSF/UP would do the same by using the ex-Wabash as a Chicago bypass for east-west intermodal, autos, or carload traffic. I think it's mostly a single track line that already handles a goodly number of trains each day, so maybe it has insufficient reserve capacity?
