NS vs CSX Traffic Debate

After reading a post on Trainorders how many intermodals that NS runs through Pittsburgh on its mainline between Chicago and the East Coast, how much business has NS really taken away from CSX?

probaly alot thats all i see down here in pittsburgh is intermodal and coal from shier oaks and i reall dont see that much intermodal on csx in pittsburgh

CSX has been running pretty much the same amount of intermodal traffic over the past several years. And while NS has picked up some UPS traffic, CSX has picked up some JB Hunt traffic. Overall, I think it's pretty much balanced out, though there's rumors of CSX dumping entire trains worth of traffic just to try and save money on crews and fuel...
