Caboose

On the Roanoke rail cam, just saw a train go by with a caboose on the end. What would cause NS to put a caboose on a train now a days?

Probably a local train........often times they will use a caboose as a "shoving platform" when they do switching
moves to protect the rear of the train.

Makes sense. I just hadn't seen one stroll past the webcam until today.
