POSE derailment at Chelmsford 01-19-2017

Reported on GRS Sightings Group 1/19 that there is a
derailment at Westford by POSE. No other details so
far as of 9:45AM.

Not to be picky but all reports indicate this is in Chelmsford not Westford.

However based on past developments I'm sure the Town of Westford is very interested in what's going on.

Didn't they have a derailment there a few years ago? Was it on the curve?

It's now a "Haz-Mat" issue as well,had cars of "dirty dirt" from the Wynn Casino site involved.

At approximately 3 a.m., the Chelmsford police received a report from Pan Am Railways that a train had been derailed in the area of School Street and Meadowbrook Road.

Upon arrival, police and fire learned that four cars from a 66-car train had come off the tracks, blocking School Street and Meadowbrook Road.

No injuries were reported. Pan Am Railways worked through the night repairing the damaged tracks and removing the derailed cars. Work will continue throughout today. School Street and Meadowbrook Road were temporarily closed, but are now open to through traffic.
