those arent csx units, they are on lease from RLCX

they were on the BN for many years

they are just like all the rent-a-wreck SD40's, CSXT does not own them...

CSXT 8530 is an SD50, by the way...

As the photo description stated on the first link to the #8530, that unit is operated by the Connecticut Southern RailRoad, which is part of RailAmerica Corp. The picture was taken in CSXT's West Springfield Yard in West Springfield, Mass. The CSO operates between Springfield,Ma on CSXT's (former Con-Rail main-line between Selkirk, NY & Boston, Ma.) main-line @ CP-98 and CSXT's Cedar Hill Yard in Cedar Hill, CT, just north of New Haven, CT. via Amtrak's Springfield / Hartford Line.

CSO's crews start and end at West Springfield Yard and the power is generally stored at the west end of track 6.

Simply put, the loco's have nothing to do with CSXT, other than laying-over in CSXT's yard.
