Hey F40.....rumors rumors and more rumors......thats all the railroad is sometimes. Anyhow, it has been said alot that CSXT wants to get rid of the shortlines and just run mainline trains. I hear a rumor months ago that CSXT wants to sell everything east of Worcester. (The MBTA would probably buy the track / property....except for between just west of Auburndale Station and Back Bay, which is leased from the Mass Turnpike Authority).

Recently the rumor turned into one that suggests that everything east of Selkirk is up for sale. :(

Did anyone notice the new symbols by CSX frieghts in the Q200 and Q300 series on bullsheet.com? Some of the frieghts still have their original symbol but also a Symbol that is 7 letters and 1 number ex ADORBUF1. Anyone know whats up with this?

CSX conductor, if the buy went through, what would happen to like B735? it wouldn't be done by CSX anymore?

MBTA F40PH-2C 1050 - If you want to know about purchase and sale of various railroad branches, you can always check with the STB. Most railroad employees in the operating department are not privy to executive board level decisions until after they happen... sounds like the usual railroad bull session. What does you B-735 question mean? Yes, if they stop running B-735 over that section of track that means that B-735 wont run anymore.

STB = Surface Transportation Board. Replaced the ICC (Interstate Commerce Commission) as the regulartory body for railroad mergers, abandonments, etc...
