TRAINS TO BE MOVING ON NORMALLY UNUSED CSX TRACKS IN CLINTON COUNTY

CLINTON COUNTY — Residents and motorists along the normally out of service CSX railroad tracks that run through Clinton County should be aware of train activity on the normally unused tracks.

The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office announced Saturday morning that the out of service tracks are being used by CSX for rail car storage.

The sheriff’s office says activity was first reported Saturday morning in Trenton, with the storage cars moving eastbound towards Aviston.

There are reports that some crossings have flares set up, with CSX workers stopping traffic as the train clears the crossings.

It may not be high speed or through use - but it is use.

Why'd they stop using them? they look to be in great condition.
