In recent years, Genset locomotives have been acquired by numerous Class 1 railways, including CP, CSX, BNSF, and UP. However, I have yet to hear any news of CN acquiring, or intending to acquire any Genset locos.

I know they've made the step towards being more environmentally friendly and fuel efficient with the ES44DC and SD70M-2 locomotives, also allowing them to remove from service some of the old, inefficient, and highly polluting locos. That being said, why hasn't CN taken part in the Genset market?
