The real estate group Hamburg Invest plans to erect two towers of 25 floors above Montreal's Central station.

Homberg had acquired the complex including the station and the Canadian National headquarters in the cost of 355 million dollars,last september.

In press conference in Montreal,yesterday,the chairman and CEO of Hamberg,Richard Hamberg,was indicated that CN are going soon to liberate a few 30,000 square feet rental which he occupied in the corner of Mansfield and de la Gauchetiere streets.

The leader has maid hope to find taker for these offices,average more higher rental than CN currently pays.

Mr. Homberg are explained when doing the acquisition of the Central station complex,his company had a more ambitious goal that the simple management of existing buildings.

He refuse however set schedule for the possible construction of the both towers,who could add up a million square feet.

It also says he is planning this investment "to take advantage of a proposed new link between the downtown location and Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport at Dorval" Is the rail link finally going to be built?

Also, if you walk into a side street, you can still see the original Central Station structure above the Concourse which is all but hidden by the surrounding QE Hotel, CN Headquarters and parking garage. Wonder if this will now disappear too with the new office towers built above?
