47 BNSF locomotives vandalized in Wichita Falls

As many companies have experienced, the railroad is feeling the impact of the struggling economy, and the situation has prompted BNSF to store locomotives at locations across its network until the volumes pick up again, BNSF spokesman Joe Faust said. That includes 124 in Wichita Falls; and this month, the railroad discovered someone had damaged 47 of them.

Senior Special Agent Steven Wells with BNSF Police said the damage included broken windows and broken lights, and someone also set off fire extinguishers inside some of the locomotives.

I'm surprised they don't lock up the cabs, at the least.... it's one of the few things CN seems to be able to do when they're storing units...??
