Fire fighting on one of these must be very challenging. Seems like a combination of having to put out a pile of burning rubber in the middle of a vat of chemicals. And as the insulation burns off the cables, you have additional sources of ignition being exposed and coming into contact all the time. Has anybody seen a finding of what lit this one off?

According to a link to a news report posted under the Rebuilders and Smaller Locomotive Works discussion, the green goats have been "recalled" by RailPower following another unit fire. There is a press release on their website now confirming this. The date they give for the unit fire is May 30, so it was apparently not this unit (unless it burned up again).

But if you want a really interesting read, look up the history of their stock, which apparently peaked back around Nov. '05 at around $6.50 and is now trading around $0.40.
