Amtrak on C&I line (Aurora-LaCrosse)?

Been seeing Amtraks on the C&I line (Aurora to LaCrosse) lately. Is this a temporary routing? What's up?

CP is doing trackwork in the LaCrosse area, forcing periodic detours of Amtrak's number 8 to Chicago over BNSF. Westbound train 7 is running via its regular CP routing to LaCrosse. According to scanner chatter, Amtrak's 8 detours will also occur on 10/13, 10/17, and 10/18. In addition, you might have also seen some Amtrak equipment on the C&I last weekend, when the 20th Century Club special chartered it for a run to and from Savanna...

Thanks for the info, doepack. That would mean Amtrak running down the Rochelle line. It'd be kind of unusual and funny seeing Amtrak run down that line.
